Well, each month, on the 29th, it's ''Gnocchi Day'' in Argentina. We eat gnocchi and put a bill under the plate (as a wish for more money). I'm having gnocchi tonight! (more money? who knows...)

...Marsala Sauce When feeling unwell, I think why shouldn’t the sick have decent puddings? Because if anything will give them strength to rise up from their sick bed, it is this. It’s an old favourite and has been giving me pleasure and strength even when I haven’t felt poorly. Sadly, I am now diabetic so have to re-calculate the ingredients and measurements, but for you it’s a lovely, comfort food. 4 egg yolks 1 oz caster sugar grated peel of 1 lemon 1 teaspoon real vanilla essence about 1.5 oz rice or corn flour 1 oz plain flour 600ml full-cream milk, like Jersey milk or “breakfast milk” For the sauce: 100ml Marsala 3 tablespoons runny honey a tiny knob of unsalted butter Continued below >>>>>

In a bowl, beat together the egg yolks and sugar until pale and fluffy. Stir in the lemon peel and vanilla. Add both the flours and the milk to the bowl, and stir until the mixture is completely smooth. Pour the gnocchi mixture into a saucepan and cook over a low heat, stirring all the time, until the mixture thickens up and becomes quite firm. Ease out onto a non-stick surface, spread out until it is 2 - 3cm / a tad over 1 inch thick, and leave to cool. Preheat the oven to 180 c / 350 F / Gas mark 4. Cut the slab of cold gnocchi into whatever shapes you fancy - mine are usually diamondish. The mixture will be slightly sticky and fragile, making it troublesome to handle but no matter - persevere. Place on a buttered baking tray and bake until the tops are beginning to turn brown. This should take around 15 - 20 minutes. Meanwhile, mix the Marsala, honey and butter in a saucepan and gently heat until it turns all runny. Pour over the gnocchi and serve.

What do you suggest we do? ..at least not for this one. Records of Glacier Perito Moreno ruptures: 1917, 34, 40, 47, 52, 53, 56, 60, 63, 70, 72, 75, 77, 80, 84, 88, 2004, 2006. You can see there's not an evident increase of ruptures (16 years between 1988 and 2004). It breaks just because it's a non-retreating glacier, not because it melts. It's a Nature cycle.
