Socrates did travel to Egypt as did many Greeks of his period with trade goods that stretched across the Mediterranean from Asia to Spain. And his travels were to further his knowledge in his quest for the advancement of science. Pick up the video, The Greeks - Crucible of Civilization that is a PBS home video and in two parts. It is worth watching in case you don't care to read dry material.

we, here in America are believers in free speech, I will not ask that the posts that offend me personally be not permitted and neither will I attack them. I do think it would be wrong to encourage it by answering humorously though. So everyone to their own responses.

we believe in free speech too. You have to keep in mind that the slats are a virtual environment. Contacts are not one on one, there is no eye contact, no body language, people are anonymous, you don't really know them. Timid persons can hide behind a bugmask and express themselves in a strong manner and adopt a kind of behaviour they would not have courage to in real life.
